Feedback-Informed Treatment (FIT)
FIT is an approach that aims at creating a culture in the therapy community that seeks feedback.
Based on several findings:
1. Psychotherapy works.
2. Success usually comes sooner rather than later.
3. However, client experiences vary greatly in therapy.
4. Who provides therapy matters more than the what kind of treatment is provided.

The Outcome Rating Scale (OCR) and the Session Rating Scale (ORS) are the preferred scales by FIT therapists. These scales are brief and informative. They allow the therapist to determine the fit of the treatment with the patient and the counselor in real time allowing for faster results and well-informed treatment goals.
How do I know if the treatment I am receiving is "FIT".
Is your therapist providing scales often for you to reflect on the treatment he or she is providing? Is your therapist conscious of your current thoughts about the therapeutic relationship? Do you and your therapist often reflect on how sessions are going in honesty?
Ultimately, the only way to know if your treatment is FIT based is to ask your therapist. Careful though, don't try to outsmart your therapist too often.
